The term "Tambay" in Pinoy colloquial simply means bystander, loafer, vagrant or any term to describe a person with zero productivity in life. It is a term you do not want to be associated with your or to anyone in your family. They are simply a nuisance in our society, foreseen by many as wasted life and of no purpose.

However, 2 years ago a hopeful young man who was born in Manila had a vision to give these so-called "low lives" a new hope and better purpose in their lives. This is because once upon a time during his dark, younger years; he used to be part of what our society refer to as "Tambay".
But our hero for today's feature gives the Pinoy term "Tambay" a whole new meaning and reason why they deserve to be given a new shot in life. The visionary we are referring to is the multi-talented, 29-year-old, Pio Balbuena. When Balbuena started his career, he entered the music industry as a rapper and known for his songs such as: Magkano", "Lakompera", and "Ptak Ng Ulan". Aside from being a rapper, Balbuena is also a director. In fact, his AKA is Direk to most people. He simply has a massive following and viewership in Facebook, Youtibe and even TikTok of his real-time online series, "Tambay Serye"
We can only wonder why with all his feat and successes in his career; would even bother to think of the welfare of the "Tambays". But it has really become his advocacy to fend of the "Tambay" alongside the support and belief of his wife, Aira Balbuena.

The vision of our social media personality giant started when the pandemic hits this family. As he recalled, "walang trabaho during that time. Walang mga projects. Walang shows. So pa'no ko ma-sususportahan pamilya ko?" So, together with his wife, they thought of creating a business, at the same time help the "Tambay" earn money.

Thus, the Tambay company was born with Pio Balbuena as the sole owner and CEO.
So far, the Tambay brand is very successful in the online selling world, both local and international. As the team proudly explained, a single cap of Tambay can cost 40K in the market because of the demand and the rarity of the item. And the beauty of this is, Balbuena shares the income to the Tambay who gets to be a re-seller of their cap and can jackup and earn from it.
Business concept is rather simple, true! But what is rare and unique is his sincerity to help the marginalised sector; making them productive and a better chance to go thru life again. As Balbuena uttered, "Indi namen sila binibigyan ng isda. Tinuturruan namen sila mangisda"
Subsequently, Team Tambay will be holding a big event this September. It will be a music packed event where big names will grace the show.
